COVID-19 Updates

A message to our customers

Up-to-date information about Blum's response to COVID-19

The world has changed in unparalleled ways over the past month, but Blum has not. We remain fully committed to serving our Blum family in safe and healthy ways.

As construction has been deemed an essential business, our building expansions are still underway. We have made numerous operational changes as we continue to keep the health and well-being of our employees and yours, at the forefront of our actions. Below are just some of the new protocols that have been put in place:

  • Outside contractors have been assigned their own facilities in order to keep them separate from Blum employees

  • EPA approved cleaning kits are in all departments

  • We have increased third-party cleanings to sanitize canteens, break areas, railings, doorknobs, etc.

  • Extra handwashing and sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the facility

  • Canteens and break areas have been rearranged to enhance social distancing

  • Lunch, break and shift times have been staggered to reduce the amount of people in common areas

  • Disposable and cloth masks are available, along with safety instructions for use, for all employees

  • Plexiglass shields have been installed at all points of contact in the shipping and receiving areas

  • Additional signage throughout the facility emphasizing the importance of social distancing, health and sanitation

We mentioned in our update at the end of March, that Blum Austria had suspended production for 2 weeks. During that time, they were still accepting and shipping orders since their inventory levels were much higher than normal due to decreased demand. As the situation in Austria has improved, and restrictions have been lifted, they are back to work and production is up and running! Here in North Carolina, we are increasing production to meet the demand of the market.

Our team is dealing with the same fears you and your team are facing. Our sales representatives, scattered throughout the country, are doing their best to keep in touch, answer your questions and listen to your concerns and your hopes about the future. None of us know what our “new normal” will look like or when we will truly get there, but we do know one thing – we are all in this together. We want you to know and feel that we are here to support you.

Everything will be different coming out of this and we all will have different circumstances that we will be dealing with, but one constant will remain; we are here, with you. You are the heart of our business. These are challenging times. We know. We feel it too. But we will get through this together.
