Environmentally friendly transport

Everything on track

Our responsibility for our products and their impact on the environment doesn't simply end when they leave our factory gates. Because we're represented in over 120 markets around the world, we also have to ensure that our products reach our customers in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Through ecologically sustainable transportation planning – by both rail and road – we're making a significant contribution to the Paris Agreement climate targets.

Ideally, by rail...

Our Plant 7 in Dornbirn has its own sidings, from which a large proportion of our products are transported all over the world by rail.

...and otherwise by environmentally friendly trucks

We have 13 trucks to take care of our transportation needs; they arrive at our eight plants in Vorarlberg to pick up both semi-finished and finished products. All 13 are fuelled by biogas, which is obtained from food waste produced in the region.

To this end, we've invested in our own gas refuelling station, which is also located at Plant 7 in Dornbirn.

As an aside: we obtain biomass from the food waste produced in our central canteen, which is also used for biogas production.

We currently transport over a third of our products to our customers using environmentally friendly rail freight.
