Our people

Our social responsibility

At Blum, our employees are at the heart of everything we do. They are pivotal to the success of our company. That's why we always ensure measured and thoughtful dialogue with our employees and take care to consider their needs and ideas in our sustainability strategy.

Our commitment to sustainability not only encompasses ecological and economic aspects – we're also committed to fulfilling our social responsibility. This includes our comprehensive apprentice training programme, which is heavily focussed on personal development. A further example is our green staff travel concept. Both initiatives are examples of how we develop sustainable solutions at Blum, while promoting the development and well-being of our employees at the same time.

Training and development

Our employees are crucial to the long-term success of our company. That's why it is vital to utilise their full potential. And it's also why we offer equal career opportunities to both managers and specialists with niche expertise.

We want our employees to play to their strengths, and to this end we offer a wide range of internal and external training opportunities.

...from the outset

We have been training apprentices in-house for over 50 years now – many of our current employees started out with us as apprentices.

We consider personal development to be just as important as specialist training.
Robert Kaufmann, Apprenticeship Manager

At Blum, it's bus and bike all the way

At Blum Austria, we're setting a new standard – by supporting our employees in going green when travelling to and from work, whether by train, bus, bike, on foot or in car pools. Not only does this help many of our colleagues to make their own contribution to the environment and their personal health, but it also reduces congestion in our region.

That's why we're offering a comprehensive green travel concept at our sites in Vorarlberg:

  • we provide high-quality facilities for those who cycle to work, including changing rooms and showers.
  • We also cover the cost of an annual bus and train ticket for travel to and from work, and for private trips too.
  • We subsidise "job bikes" and over half of our employees have already taken advantage of this offer.

Our employees collect eco points for sustainable travel, redeem them in return for attractive rewards or donate them to good causes.

These efforts have resulted in an impressive ten-percent rise in the number of employees opting for green travel since 2021.
