Technical FAQs Overview

We hope this page will serve you as a quick reference for most technical questions. If you would prefer to speak with us or ask these questions direct why not get in touch with the technical team.

Frequently asked questions: REVEGO

What is the maximum door thickness?

26mm but some considerations need to be made for thickness over 22mm.

What is the minimum gap requirement between the top of the pocket and the next component installed above the pocket?

Minimum 6mm. Because of the tilt of the door when it is positioned in the pocket, you may have to adjust the height of the door.

What clearance is needed between the back of the door and any interior furniture?

Duo = 70mm, Uno = 35mm.

Can handles be used on REVEGO?

Yes, although they serve no purpose other than aesthetics. REVEGO is a push-to-open, push-to-open system. A larger front protrusion (FU) needs to be considered when planning with handles as the handles cannot enter the pocket.

How is the fixed shelf installed to the pocket sides?

Our recommendation is to use Lamello Clamex fixings. This enables both pockets to be pre-installed and the shelf can then slide over the fixings before securing them in place. Other methods, for example dowels, will require the shelf to be installed onto both pockets before pockets are moved into position.

How do I start to plan REVEGO?

Sign up to E-SERVICES and access Product Configurator. Full support and training available via Microsoft Teams.

What combination of formats are available?

Duo + duo

Duo

Duo + uno / uno + duo

Uno

Uno + ono

All supported by cabinet configurator.

What is the maximum coverage that can be achieved?

3M external width, giving 2.7M for internal furniture, using duo + duo.

What door widths can be used?

Duo 442 – 748mm

Uno 442 – 898mm

What door heights can be used?

Both duo and uno 1.8M - 2.5M (next stage of development will take us up to 3M height).

What is the maximum door weight?

35KG per door for either system, so 70KG total door weight possible on duo.

How much do the doors protrude from the pocket when the system is open (e.g. when doors are pushed back into pocket?

The minimum that can be achieved is 11mm (using standard 2mm side gaps on the doors). The formula is door width minus profile length (range 450 – 750) plus 15, however it is best to use the Product Configurator. Using the software will give you all the salient dimensions including pocket depth (minimum internal pocket depth = profile length plus 100mm) back configuration also needs to be considered when considering external dimension.

Are non-standard widths and depths possible?

Yes, see above for full range of door sizes. However, it should be noted that this may involve cutting the pocket profile and/or the track profile. This is achievable with a decent quality Aluminium saw and it should be noted that great care must be taken to de-burr the cut end and remove any swarf/dust from the channels. Again, it is important to use the Product Configurator to assist with all the calculations.

Apart from above, are there any other metal parts that need cutting?

With uno the guide rail needs to be cut according to door width – this may also require a drilled hole to be made as this can potentially be lost in the cutting

Other than there are cover strips which can be cut by hand.

What is the minimum order quantity for REVEGO?

All parts are supplied in kit packs of 1.

How do I know what parts to order?

A complete parts list is generated when you plan the pockets on Product Configurator. This also includes adding the option of the specific screws needed which are 14.5mm long countersunk Euro screws and M4 x 35 countersunk chipboard screws.

Are there any non-Blum parts required when I use REVEGO?

We recommend two door straighteners are used on each door to correct any bowing to ensure best results.

What are the pocket widths?

150mm for duo, 100mm for uno. These are external pocket dimensions

Do I need any special equipment to produce a REVEGO pocket door system?

Yes, it is imperative to have a CNC machine due to the number of holes that need to be drilled and the accuracy thereof. The only jig we offer is for end drilling in case the CNC machine does not have that axis available. By planning the REVEGO on Product Configurator you can export not only CAD data but a full CNC program in various languages covering all popular machines (Felder, Homag, Biesse, SCM and ‘.hop’ format).

How do Blum support me in my efforts to produce a REVEGO pocket door?

It is a pre-requisite that anyone wishing to purchase/manufacture/install this system, they should attend a training session at our Milton Keynes office. We provide manufacturer training and installer training on alternate Wednesdays from mid-March onwards. We have a dedicated technical team to offer further support via Microsoft Teams and Live Support through the EA app. The training can be booked in a central diary available at the KBB show. We will endeavour to be present in person to support/advise on any showroom installation. We have a full selection of marketing/manufacturing and installation videos available on our website for refresher information.

How much adjustment is available to me for REVEGO doors?

Minimum +/- 4mm in all directions.

What thickness of material is required for the REVEGO pockets?

We have two options 15/16mm and 18/19mm.

Is REVEGO available for a framed application?

No, we are unable to technically support this & would fall outside of our recommendations and warranty.

Is it possible to mix and match pocket and door design?

It is essential that the doors and the pockets are CNC drilled by the same manufacturer using the program information generated by Cabinet Configurator.

Can ‘shaker’ style doors be used?

Shaker style doors can be used but there are a few considerations to be aware of – The overall thickness of the door, where the drilling positions are situated, how the door straighteners are installed, and where the scuff guards are situated (if scuff guards are being used).

Can REVEGO be used as a ‘walk through’?

It is not recommended to be used as a walk through. The internal furniture that is to go within REVEGO is an integral part of the construction and stability of the system.

Can REVEGO be planned from floor to ceiling?

There is a 10mm thick pocket connector that is situated at the top of the pocket. The diagonal measurement of the assembled pocket needs to be known to create clearance to stand the pocket up into position. This will leave a gap above the system depending on the clearance needed.
