REACH regulation
Duty to supply information in regard to Article 33 according to the REACH regulation
On 27 June 2018 ECHA (European CHemicals Agency) added lead to the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern for Authorisation (SVHC).
According to Article 33 of the REACH regulation, a vendor must inform his commercial consumer unasked as soon as his product contains a substance from the candidate list with a concentration of at least 0.1% weight by weight.
Lead provides a better machinability and is included especially in rotating parts that are used for Blum products.
There is no confirmation as to when lead will be included in annex XIV of the REACH regulation and it therefore will be subject to an authorisation requirement.
We are determined to find suitable substitutes to replace lead and implement these changes.
We request that you share this information with your commercial clients as well.
If you have any further questions about the implementation of the REACH regulations, we will be happy to help you.
