PLICOBOX: Blum's new box system for living spaces developed in cooperation with EGGER

The Austrian manufacturer of fittings launches PLICOBOX at interzum 2025. The new box system is designed specifically for living spaces. A key feature is its innovative folding base which was developed in close collaboration between Blum and leading international manufacturer of wood-based products, EGGER. The new concept makes manufacturing and assembly child's play. PLICOBOX boasts tried-and-tested Blum technology, is available in three contemporary colours and, thanks to its streamlined design, is well suited to the aesthetic of modern furniture. The product has also been recognised with the interzum Award 2025.

With PLICOBOX, Blum has developed an aesthetically appealing solution that offers high-quality functionality for living areas (i.e. living rooms, bedrooms, dressing rooms and offices) and stands out thanks to its easy assembly and wide range of possible applications. PLICOBOX’s folding base was developed by Blum in collaboration with Tyrol-based wood specialist EGGER, which also manufactures the product. It combines base and drawer back in one and, true to its tagline “Fold. Push. Done.”, makes manufacturing and assembling the box system a piece of cake. All you need to do is push the folding base into the drawer sides and fix in place – without tools. After that, simply connect the cabinet profiles, which are not only suitable for PLICOBOX metal drawer sides but also for 100 per cent wooden drawers (another new feature).

Sophisticated technology with a modern design

PLICOBOX’s technology impresses in every respect. It boasts Blum's proven feather-light glide, convenient and comprehensive adjustment options and a load bearing capacity of up to 25 kg, making it ideal for living room and bedroom furniture. PLICOBOX is available with full, 7/8 and single extension. As always, Blum has also paid great attention to design. PLICOBOX stands out thanks to its modern, streamlined look. The straight drawer sides go beautifully with the design of contemporary furniture. The box system comes in three colours: silk white matt, pyrite beige and carbon black matt, opening a world of design possibilities.

Efficient storage and logistics

When developing PLICOBOX, efforts were also made to keep the packaging as streamlined as possible: the specially developed flat-pack design, made possible by the folding base, is especially space-saving. This helps to optimise storage and internal logistics and reduces transport costs for manufacturers and OEM customers. The innovative packaging also provides a better overview for end users and makes handling easier.

Range expanded thanks to collaboration

Blum’s products have long been established in all areas of the home. Now, with PLICOBOX, the range has been significantly expanded with the aim of providing customers with a product that is tailored specifically to their requirements for living rooms and bedrooms and that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of furniture design and planning.
