A gala event held on Friday, 20th August, 2010 to officially launch the always different, always unique TANDEMOX intivo, SERVO-DRIVE for AVENTOS and CLIP top BLUMOTION. Sydney – August 2010 Two hundred and sixty guests travelled from around Australia, Austria and New Zealand. Cabinetmakers, kitchen retailers, distributors and media alike made their way along the grand corridor of Blum orange washed arch ways and chiffon drapes to experience the product exhibits.
A legion of waiters offered Blum guests delicious canapés and delectable South Australian wines upon arrival. Twenty three cabinets displayed Blum’s TANDEMBOX intivo drawers and BOXCOVER design options, the magic of SERVO-DRIVE for AVENTOS and the new look CLIP top BLUMOTION.
“I really do like the new products and will try and incorporate them into my designs where ever possible”, commented Jenny Kemp, Inavogue Kitchen Designer.
TANDEMBOX intivo and SERVO-DRIVE for AVENTOS is available from 1st September, 2010, with CLIP top BLUMOTION arriving in April, 2011.
Progressing to the Domain Theatre, Peter Helliar, Master of Ceremonies burst onto the stage to a roar of cheers and a standing ovation. Peter escalated the joyous atmosphere with an energetic comical treat and introduced Managing Director of Blum Australia, Brett Ambrose who delivered a Blum welcome.
Blum International Product Manager, Michael Mandlburger and Blum Sales Manager responsible for Australia and New Zealand, Christian Schwerzler presented Think Design. Think Motion. Think Blum. Michael took the audience on a journey into a world of design and presented insights of Blum’s thoughts on product design and how TANDEMBOX intivo fits perfectly into this environment.
“Functional kitchen hardware is first of all required to enable such construction of such furniture and secondly the design of such functional kitchen hardware also has to follow the general trends”, explained Michael. “[TANDEMBOX intivo is a] product with a real clear cut design, all the visible components perfectly fit into each other. TANDEMBOX intivo represents our latest step into the direction of striving towards a more integrated product design”.
Christian Schwerzler was proud to announce the launch of SERVO-DRIVE for AVENTOS which was shown two years ago as a concept product. Additionally he talked about Blum’s quality of motion and their endeavour towards perfecting motion.
“All Blum products are guaranteed to last the life time of a kitchen. So we support this with testing the hardware in our own lab, with our test kitchens in the field and with international kitchen observations. This is where we get new ideas about the requirements of the kitchen user. The results of this go directly into the development of our new products”, expressed Christian.
Chicken ballontine’s and veal tenderloins were served in the main gallery as guests sat amongst priceless artworks. As company dined, they were entertained by the extremely talented award winning Sacred Weird Little Guys. Their infectious humour and musical prowess amused the crowd with their stable of comedic songs and Blum kitchen song written to the tune of Austria’s number on critically acclaimed group The Von Trapp Family Singers.
“The Scared Weird Little Guys were awesome”, exclaimed Dale Healy, Owner of H&H Cabinets.
And so the evening closed with chocolate and hazelnut pudding and chocolate sorbet and pear tart tartin with butterscotch and pear William ice-cream. The energy and electricity trailed guests as they dispersed out of the main gallery, with many commenting on the spectacular venue, the ambiance and an over all informative and entertaining event by Blum.
